Sleep Inn & Suites - Parsons, KS

9/5 and 9/6 2012

We were staying in Parsons Kansas, mostly so we could get fried chicken in Pittsburg Kansas which was nearby.

We stayed here a couple years ago and knew it had a handicap room with two queen beds. We knew it wasn't the greatest accessible room but it worked and there were not many other places to stay in the area anyways. There were two doors in the front of the building which were not automatic so I had to wait for help or go with somebody to get out. The Elevator was okay, kind of small but it worked alright. Our room was on the second floor and was close to the elevator, so that was nice. Inside the room it wasn't really spacious.

There was a long hallway from our door to the beds in the main part of the room, this worked okay by giving us places to park the hoyer lift and my wheelchair when I'm not in it.

The bathroom had enough room for me to get in and enough room around the toilet.

The sink I could not get under or use, I had to use the desk in the room that happened to have a mirror to brush my teeth. We couldn't get the lift under the bed so we had to slide me to the corner to be able to use the lift which wasn't great but it worked.
