Tecolote Cafe– Santa Fe New Mexico

March 19, 2017

This is in their new location, they were previously in a location that wasn't too accessible. We parked at the other end of the shopping center and walked up to it. The inside was very nice and our table worked great. The restroom was excellent as well.

Nina Mason Pulliam Rio Salado Audubon Center – Phoenix Arizona

March 17, 2017

There was really good handicap parking. This was a 95° day so their air-conditioning was quite nice. The building had a rather large door and inside was very spacious and easy to get through. The bathroom was nice and very accessible. The trails around were okay although I almost got stuck in one place and it wasn't as exactly the most scenic place.

Rest area I 25 exit 18 near Trinidad Colorado

March 7, 2017

We stopped here just about every year there is very nice parking. There is a nice outside area room for me to drive around. The inside area was nice with a glassed in the area and places to sit and rest. They have a family/accessible restroom which was very nice and was actually unlocked this time. Sometimes in the past it hasn’t been.

Comfort suites – Omaha Nebraska

August 9 through August 11
This hotel had nice parking in front. The building had an automatic door. Inside was quite spacious in the front and easy to get to the elevator. Our room was a two queen accessible room.

This was a nice spacious room with a sitting area up front than the two queen beds that were open underneath which was useful with the Hoyer lift.

It had a nice size bathroom but no roll in shower. It had a tub with bars. The sink was easy to use and it was easy to get to the toilet.

Greater Des Moines botanical Gardens – Des Moines Iowa

August 9, 2016

Was a little difficult to find but it might have just been our GPS was lost. There was good parking and the lobby was very easy to navigate. They had nice restrooms and the family restroom which was a large room with a ton of space. The tropical dome was nice and pretty easy to get around outside there were nice paths but the garden kind of just came to an end. But everything there was very accessible.

Comfort suites Lincoln Nebraska

August 4, 2016

This wasn’t the easiest hotel to find and the one-way streets around it didn’t help. But when we did finally get there, there was good handicap parking right in front with an automatic door. Our room was on the second floor so we had to use the elevator which worked fine.

There was a large amount of space in our room and are Hoyer lift could go under the bed.

The bathroom was nice and everything worked well.

There was even a roll in shower, but we didn’t use it.

Drury inn and suites Phoenix Airport – Phoenix Arizona

March 2 through March 11, 2015

We arrived a little late on the first night and we couldn’t get the hoyer lift in the right place to get me in and out of bed without moving the bed or the dresser. We went back to the front desk they said they could give us a regular room with a connecting room that had one King and was an accessible room.  we looked at the room it was crowded in the regular room and the one King had plenty of room with a roll in shower, but we didn’t know if I could be heard if I yelled for help in the middle of the night from the King room and I couldn’t use the two queen room because there was not very much space. So we went back down to see if we can have the original two queen room and have them move the bed over a bit or the dresser, so I could get through and to get the lift between the beds. The lady at the desk said they couldn’t do it right now and then let my dad talk to the manager on the phone. The manager said they could have the maintenance man help move the bed in the morning.  But that wouldn’t help us that night. So after a long discussion about what we would do that night in the room not being ADA compliant which the manager said it was although I couldn’t get to the bed. So eventually she said they would try to find someone to help move it. So soon after they found their shuttle driver who came up and helped my dad move the bed over a bit so I could get through to the lift between the beds and to the side of the bed. After this change the room was very nice and worked great.

We could get the Hoyer lift under the bed.

There was plenty of room in the bathroom and the roll in shower worked great.

The sink worked all right, but I did use the one in the kitchen area for brushing my teeth. The desk in the living room worked well too.

There was plenty of room in our suite. There were two doors with terraces. I could only get to one but couldn’t fully get out on the terrace.
