Hampton inn Albuquerque New Mexico

March 5, 2012

We had an accessible room which we walked into and there was a ton of space in front of beds and plenty of room between them.

In the bathroom I could get to the toilet and I could use the sink, just with help turning the water on. There were two mirrors, one at the desk and one in the bathroom, which didn’t work very well since they were kind of high.  I looked like the neighbor on the tv show home improvement.  There was no roll in shower, but there is a shower seat which doesn't work for me.  This was not too big of a deal since we were just there one night. The desk was okay and I could get under it.

There was also a large mirror that was also the door for the closet.  The handicapped parking spots outside were parallel parking spots which worked really well. We just had to make sure to get the ramp to come out so I could hit the break between the curb things. The front door was automatic so I could get in by myself.   It was a little bit of a pain to use the elevator there's not quite enough room in it and there's only one set of buttons on one side which someone would have to figure out how to get around me to get to the buttons.
This is our beautiful view of the back of the sign in front of the hotel

Culvers- Colorado Springs, Colorado

March 4, 2012

There was really good handicap parking right in front of the door with plenty of loading space for our ramp. Inside there seemed to be plenty of room in the front area and around the cash registers. The restroom was a little tight inside the stall was okay but there was a changing table that was kind of in the way and the trashcan was a little bit in the way.  I also couldn't get to the sink very easily. The table we sat at work very well, someone just had to move the chairs away and I had plenty of space.

Phoenix

My parents and I just recently got back from Spring Training in Phoenix.  There were a lot of places we had trouble with accessibility and some places that were great.  I will be posting about these experiences soon.

Moes original barbecue- Fort Collins Colorado

I was meeting friend for lunch so I was being dropped -off the first's handicap spot right in front of the place was full and so was the one down the block as well as the one around the corner. so we went back further north a block or two was a city for Collins building but it was a Saturday so it didn't look too busy. This spot we was good with plenty of loading space, I did have to drive my wheelchair a ways and then had cross the street at the light which worked fine. When we went inside us you have to order at the bar, which is kind of high and was hard for me to order and pay, but with my friend’s help I got it done.

The bathroom a little hard to get to, there is a steep place to get to the little hallway that led to the bathrooms. It was a little difficult to make the turn to get in, but when inside there was enough room; I also needed help Turning on the light. When I was done I tried to open the door and I couldn’t get it open, so I was getting my phone out when someone opened the door, and he said sorry and shut the door quickly while I was trying to just tell him I needed the door opened. So I texted my friend and he came and got the door. The rest of the restaurant seemed ok there was plenty of space between the bar and the tables on the opposite wall, and most of the tables looked ok.
