This was next to a grocery store and there was not great parking. I had to drive my wheelchair through the middle of the parking lot for quite a ways to get on the sidewalk. To get to the bathroom inside there was a long skinny hall way.  I could get to the bathroom barely, but I did and when you get to the restroom it was actually surprisingly accessible, but they did have their cleaning supplies under the sink and in the way a bit. Just barely made it in and out, and getting out was slightly harder. But the rest of the restaurant was pretty nice and accessible and our table worked well.

Riparian preserve at water ranch – Gilbert Arizona

There was very good handicap parking, there were a few handicap spots at each end of the parking lot. They have very nice trails that are mostly wheelchair accessible and a sidewalk path around the lake and a boardwalk across part of it.

We found a handicap spot on the south side which had a very nice loading zone next to it. But the restrooms are on the other side. This is where I had to go first so we walked all the way around the building to get to the restrooms.  They were family restrooms that were very nice and accessible. The door and the line area was very crowded.  At this place you fill your own drinks and wait for your number be called to pick up your food. The table we found worked well for me.

This place was in a shopping center so we parked kind of around the corner by the grocery store in a good handicap spot. The bathroom was very good and easy to get to. Inside was spacious and there was plenty of room between the tables. This place you order at the counter and they bring your food out. The table we chose work well.

 We were actually in this building a couple years earlier it was formally a good egg location. However it's changed a lot, the parking lot still wasn't great and we couldn't park real close so we just drove/walked across the parking lot to the door which now they had two doors that were both large doors and very easy to get through.   The inside seemed a lot more spacious and easy to get around.

The parking lot was in back of the building and the handicapped parking here was kind of off to the side by itself. We followed the side walk to the building then went up the ramp up to the patio and to the hostess stand. From here it was easy enough to get to our table and I could get under well.

The parking was strip mall parking next to the frys market.  We did park in a handicapped spot in front of next door.  The door and entryway was great very easy to get into.  There was plenty of space inside and was very easy to get around.  There were two great handicap accessible tables that were very easy to use; I think some of the others would've worked to also.  I noticed the counter didn’t seem very high. I was also able to meet the owner who told me that he made sure to get the handicap tables and about how it bothers him when people park in handicapped parking spots and don't need them.

 There was a good handicap spot directly in front.  The parking lot was small but the handicap spot was good.  The door was easy to get through, but they had a small waiting area which was rather crowded between the bar and the dining room. Once we finally did get seated, which took a little longer because we needed a table, the table was slightly too short but it worked okay. There weren’t very many tables that were easily accessible and there were more booths than tables which would've been hard for a wheelchair.

The parking lot was full except for one spot with the loading zone on the wrong side for our ramp.  The parking attendant told us to just park in the loading zone and let me out then re-park when I got out. This place is really crowded right in front by the door which is also where the cash register was.  It was crowded with the line of people waiting.   We had to wait for a while so we went into the next part of the building to the bakery and the meat market. These two parts were okay to get through.  From the bakery part there were two half doors to the restaurant which was a pain because two people had to hold them at the same time.   The table we were finally seated at was okay, it was a big table which we only used half or less of it and it was a little difficult to get to but we made it work.

There were just spots in front no handicap spots. The door was easy to get into; the inside was tight and crowded between the rows of fruit and everything else. There was no wheelchair access to the bathroom.

Phoenix Municipal Stadium - Phoenix Arizona

When we arrived the handicap parking lot was full so dad dropped us off and went and parked across the street where the rest of the parking was. The gates were easy enough to handle.   There was little bit of space down the first baseline but not much extra space anywhere else. There was not a huge amount of space on the concourse or the walk ways behind our seats.  Our seats were good and had a decent view.   There were no bolted down chairs just fold up chairs, so you can just sit where you needed to. The bathroom was a little small and crowded.  The stall was kind of small but just about what you would expect at a stadium. The sink was okay and then I just needed help with the paper towels.   I did not see a handicap/family room but it would've been nice if there was one.   

 

When we left we had to cross a bridge to get to the parking lot where my dad parked.  There was a handicap lane for wheelchairs on the bridge off to the side.

The parking was not that great, but there were a few spots in front.  We parked next door in a handicapped spot which worked okay I guess. The doorway was a little tight, but not too bad and it's also right where the cash register was so it could get crowded.   Inside the spacing was okay, there were a few places I couldn’t get through but most places were okay.  The table we choose to sit at was okay and worked good with no problems.  There was a hall to the bathroom which was okay.   When we got to the bathroom it was just one room that was good-sized that had quite of space and worked well.

The parking a lot was full when we arrived, but the handicap parking in front would have worked alright if open. It was a little crowded in the doorway area which was partially because there're people sitting and waiting.  There was just enough space to get around the place.   The tables were okay, but the chairs were on wheels which could be hazardous for some people.

The parking was not the best, the handicap parking that was next of the next store, had a loading zone that was not very big.  From there we had to follow the sidewalk to the door with a couple of tight places to get through.  When we got there the door was fine.  Inside was kind of crowded and if it was full it would've made it a lot harder to get through the building. The bathroom had a good stall with a good amount of space, the sink and the paper towels were okay to get to.

Drury inn suites - Phoenix Arizona Happy Valley

There was good parking in front and both ends of the building.  In front there was an automatic door which worked great for us.  There was a lot of space in the lobby area and in the breakfast area/evening snack area.

 

In the room, which was a 2 room suite with two queen room with a roll in shower, there was a lot of space. This was great for putting all our stuff including my shower chair and the hoyer.  There was a little bit of a kitchen area with a sink which is where I actually brushed my teeth because it seemed easier than using the sink in the bathroom.   The table in the room worked great and I could actually get under it and use it.

 

 

 

In the bathroom the Roll in shower was great, the toilet was easy enough to get to, and the sink was okay except I couldn’t quite reach the faucet. 

 

The front area had a couch and chairs and the bedroom area had two queen beds.   Both rooms had a 37 inch flat screen TV which was nice.  The beds were okay but we had to slide me to the corner of the bed again because the bed wasn't open underneath which worked okay I suppose.

Reach 11 recreational area barrier free trail - Phoenix AZ

This trail was nice and pretty accessible but it was just not marked very well and could kind of be a pain for some people. There was a little bit of a parking lot right off the side of the road so we thought it has to be close to here. So we parked and had enough room to unload and get out.   Then I had to try to get through the gate but if you have somebody push the gate one way and then you can get in there and then have them push it back the other way and you can get through to the other side. There was still no sign about the barrier free trail so we followed a sidewalk that’s next to a dirt road.  Which other people were walking on the sidewalk but it wasn't very wide so everyone else had to get off because there was no way I could.

So we continued for about a half a mile and then finally we see a sign about the barrier free trail. Also there is a sign that says no bicycles which I'll get to.  So we go around the loop, it was a pretty nice trail and we're just enjoying the open space and walking when a family of bicycles passes and then the little sister runs into the brother who was slowing down because it looked like he was about to get stuck if he didn't slow down in a kind of a loose gravel spot in the path.  This was kind of annoying to have to worry about bicycles, especially since they weren't supposed to be on the trail anyways. This was a nice trail for a nice hike, but would have been better without bicyclists because then you don't have to worry about them passing you and/or possibly running into you.

North Mountain Park Barrier free trail - Phoenix, AZ

We read about this place since it had barrier free trail. When we get there in the parking lot there were a handful of handicap spots that worked okay.  Since we were at a barrier free trail I thought there would be an accessible bathroom and I had to go. So we get out and I see a building that looks like it might be a bathroom so we head that way, but some of path was kind of almost like sand, and I almost got stuck a couple times and then I finally got to the sidewalk that leads to the bathroom, but when I got there the door was not wide enough to get through. So we headed back down and my dad went and talked to the park rangers at their table in the parking lot

They said that the handicapped bathroom was up the road but the road was closed because it was silent Sunday.  Where they didn't want cars going up the road. They said that they've never run into this situation before, so I guess they didn’t expect wheelchair users to use the barrier free trail on Sundays and need the bathroom.  So they said they would open the gate for us so we could drive up there to get to the bathroom.  As we drove up everyone that was walking down the road and knew there weren’t supposed to be cars there kept giving us dirty looks which was actually kind of funny. So we get up there and get to the bathroom and I could get in, thank God because I really had to go by this time. This wasn't the most accessible bathroom but at least I got to go.

So we come back down after still not finding accessible barrier free trail, but when we got back to the parking lot we found the start of the trail at the other end of the parking lot and finally when we got to the trail the trail was a very accessible. 

The trail was basically a sidewalk that was easy to drive on, but there wasn't much to see and it was rather short. 

Then we found a bathroom by that trail. This bathroom looked accessible (the door anyways) but I couldn't get into it because it was locked.  Which if this one was usable it would have helped the previous problem.

This place was in a shopping center mall there were handicapped parking spots but not directly next to the place but there were good sidewalks and it was very easy to get around when we walked in there was quite a bit of room to get around.  it wasn’t real bad to get to the bathroom.  Inside was a little tight in places but worked okay. Our table worked good and had no problems.

Surprise Stadium - Surprise Arizona

We were going to see another Rockies game and like to see some of the other stadiums in Phoenix area so that brings us here.  There was pretty good parking. They wanted us to park in a certain spot, but we needed the loading area on the right side so they let us park in a different spot.  This was a great spot with plenty of room, and was close to a gate but not too close to the tickets and will call window.  These were near one of the other gates, and the will call window was actually a table which seemed like a very good idea, nice and easy to do. It was pretty easy to get around the stadium.  Our handicap seats were really good right behind home plate and were in the shade which actually made it a little cool.

We parked across the parking lot at a handicap spot next to churches chicken which they were not busy at all. There was a good sidewalk that was very easy to get onto and it was easy to get in the door. It was crowded in the place with people waiting.  There wasn't really too much room to do anything. I went to the bathroom while we were waiting which was not too bad to get to and decent inside.  This wasn’t the best, but was okay with not quite enough room but pretty much worked. When they seated us they wanted to know if I could get to one of the tables, but I couldn’t get to it so they asked someone else who was seated just ahead of us if they would move to the other table which they said was fine. This table worked fine.
