TC’s point after – Dewitt Iowa

August 7, 2016

We parked around the block in an open lot, there were many people on the street or in the lot just after 11 o’clock on a Sunday morning. It was easy enough to get inside and we sat at a table that worked well. I couldn’t get my wheelchair into the restroom.

Comfort Inn & Suites Davenport - Quad Cities– Davenport Iowa

August 5 through August 8

There were a couple of handicap spots right in front but we usually ended up parking in the back in non-handicap spots.

Our room was a two queen room with a roll in shower. This was not the most spacious hotel room but it had just enough space for most things. The hoyer could go under the bed.

The bathroom worked well, the sink and toilet as well as the roll in shower. One night they didn’t replace our towels and make our beds and they said it was because we had left our do not disturb sign up, but they were cleaning next-door when we left and we took our sign down. That was one of our issues with the place.

Ferris wheel at Modern Woodmen Park – Davenport Iowa

August 6, 2016

At Modern Woodmen Park there is a wheelchair accessible Ferris wheel. I had never been on a Ferris wheel except for maybe when I was real little. This was a lot of fun being able to do something I normally wouldn’t be able to do.

Modern Woodmen Park– Davenport Iowa

August 6, 2016

This is the home ballpark of the Quad Cities River Bandits and we went this night specifically so we could get a Joe Maddon bobble head. This ballpark was an older ballpark so the concourse areas were kind of a bit crowded. They had a different gate for the handicap entry. I think it was the same one for the season ticket holders. So you just go in that door and then to the elevator. The handicap seats were at the top of the sections and fairly close to the field.
A lot of times it’s hard to eat ballparks when you can’t find a table or anything to eat off of which makes it difficult.

But at the handicap seats there were basically these small tables on the railing to use right next to your cup holder.

Davenport Skybridge – Davenport Iowa

August 6, 2016

Each side of the sky bridge had an elevator. Inside the bridge was just a big open area and the one end looking toward the river had a balcony outside. This wasn’t exactly the most exciting thing, but it was pretty neat to be up in the bridge and see what you could see.

Quad Cities Convention & Visitors Bureau – Davenport Iowa

August 6, 2016

We were in Davenport Iowa and we were walking over to the sky bridge before a baseball game at Modern Woodman Park. But we stopped here mostly to go to the bathroom. It was a bit crowded in the place between all the displays and things they were trying to sell. The restroom was pretty crowded but I guess it worked.

Harris pizza – Rock Island Illinois

August 6, 2016

The parking is across the street to you just have to cross a not too busy of a street. The front area wasn’t exactly that spacious but was easy enough to get through. There were plenty of tables we could get to and the one we sat at worked well. It was also easy to get to the back of the restaurant where the restroom was and the restroom was very accessible.
