John Deere harvester works – Moline Illinois

August 8, 2016

The lobby area was very accessible and had a very nice restroom. When we got to the desk and told them we were there for a Tour they called someone to get the accessible cart. When everyone was ready for the tour I had to drive up a rather steep ramp to get on the cart which had wheelchair tie downs. Then put a headset on so you can hear the tour guide. Part of the tour everyone got off the cart and went up the steps to the paint area with the tour guide. And when this was happening the driver set me up to watch a video about it. Otherwise the whole tour was the same as everyone else had.

VMI – Phoenix Arizona

March 8, 2016

We visited the VMI factory where they convert vans to make them usable for people in wheelchairs. We were able to have a tour of the place. This was very neat to see how they basically strip down a new van then modify it and add a ramp then put it all back together.
