The Berkshire - Denver Colorado

October 29, 2014

There was a fair amount parking back behind but not necessarily too many handicap spots. we found a spot with an empty spot next to it and parked. The sidewalk that went along the side of the building up to the front looked a little skinny. But there was a little hallway that went through the building. So we came out the front then took the sidewalk to the next door which was the Berkshire. Once there the doorway area was little crowded with two doors and not a lot of space. And from there it wasn't too bad to get to our table but was right next to where the waitresses fill the drinks so I didn't want to back up at the wrong time. To use the bathroom it was little difficult I had to go past the door before someone could open it and then turn around and come back to get in it. Inside there was not a ton of room and I couldn't fit in the stall. Although I did notice later that in the other part of the restaurant there was a handicapped bathroom.

Grimaldi's pizza Denver Colorado

This is located on the 16th St., Mall in Denver and there is a parking lot that is really close. We didn't park there; we parked a couple of blocks away from there and walked. This wasn't too bad except for there being so many people and some that don't pay attention where they’re walking. Inside the restaurant was a little crowded right up front, but besides that was plenty of room to get around and take it to the restroom. There was enough room in the stall and everything but not a ton of extra room around the sink and everywhere else in the restroom because I kind of had to be in the way the main bathroom door.

Las Delicias Denver Colorado

When we arrived for dinner the parking lot was full so dad just dropped me and mom off of by the restaurant and to get our name on the waiting list. He went and parked across the street in their overflow parking garage. Inside the main problem was there were so many people waiting.  Other than that it wasn't too hard to get around. The table we ended up at was okay at work fine, but it was also right next to the restroom. So the restroom was easy to get to but the stall wasn’t very big so I just used my urinal in front of the stall.

Blake St., Tavern Denver Colorado

There’s a decent parking lot in the back with a good enough handicap spot or two. Once you're parked or parked elsewhere and walked/drove a wheelchair there is no wheelchair access to the front door. So you have to go up a ramp in the back and in the emergency exit and you end up by the restrooms which worked and were not too bad for accessibility with an okay stall and an all right sink. Then when you get into the restaurant you have to make your way up to the front room here everything worked fine and easy enough to get between all tables and around the place.

The Copper Pot – Englewood CO

February 11, 2014

There was a good handicap parking spot in back or side of building easy to get from there to the door.  The door had a almost ramp right at the door, but need 2 people to hold the 2 doors.  Once inside it wasn’t too bad, I could get around fine and the table worked well. But then to the restroom, you have to go through the washroom door then past a storage room and the women’s room to get to the men’s room.  Just inside the door was a sink in front and to the right and a urinal to the left. Back past the urinal was a tiny stall that I couldn’t get to anyways.  Once inside I had to pull up far enough for my dad to shut the door while reaching over me.  Once we got the door shut I had to turn toward the sink to have enough space to use my urinal.  And I had to hope no one slammed the door open into me.  Once I was done I got a wet paper towel since I couldn’t get to the sink.  Then to get out dad had to reach over me again and I had to go forward without running into him, until the door could open all the way then I had to back all the way out past all the other doors.

A-Town Pizza - Aurora CO

The parking lot was ok; I had no problem getting to the restroom.  The restroom was decent.  I had trouble getting far enough under the table because the round part on the bottom of the leg in the middle stuck out too far, so my wheels ran into that.  When I came in from the end I could get far enough under.

A Taste of Home Cooking - Wheat Ridge, CO

September 21, 2013

The handicap parking looked a little awkward, so we parked next to their sign where there was room for us to let our ramp out, but not enough room for someone else to park there.  The front of the restaurant was very crowded; there were a couple of couches that were too big for the space which made it harder to make it through.  Right when we left the waiting area there were steps down to one seating area, so I had to be careful when driving past because there was hardly enough space.  The bathroom was not too bad there was enough room and the stall fairly big.  At the sink the mirrors I couldn’t see either one was too high and the other too low.

Jim 'N Nick's Bar-B-Q - Denver CO

July 12, 2013

We parked out in the parking lot aways,  there was not really anything real close since it is in a shopping center.  It was easy enough to get into the building and through the restaurant.  The table was not so good for me the part on the side came down lower than my knees so I could not get under the table real well.  This made it difficult to eat.  The bathroom was good and the stall had enough room and the sink was easy to get to.

Hard Rock Cafe Denver CO

April 14, 2011

I came to the Hard Rock Cafe for an MDA support group. We have the meeting room upstairs. This is located right on the 16th St. mall and was easy to get into, you have to find somewhere to park which might be difficult we parked at a lot not too far away when we got inside the lady at the front told us MDA group was upstairs and she pushed the elevator button for us. Upstairs there is a bathroom with an accessible stall and a sink that worked well.

The bathroom was good and would normally work great, but there was a wait because everyone needed the accessible stall. The meeting room is large even with a bunch of wheelchairs that take up a lot of space.

La Casa Del Rey, Commerce City, CO

July 15, 2011

There were two handicap spots directly in front of the door with a big loading zone, but when we arrived they were both full. There were very many cars in the parking lot at this point, so we parked in a spot with no one around it so we could unload. It was easy to get inside and when inside they told us to sit wherever we would like. The first section was just booths, which would not work for me. Further into the restaurant there were multiple tables that were accessible. The table was a good height for my wheelchair and had enough room. The one problem I had, since I can't lift my drink glass I have to slide it, the table had a tablecloth that wasn't easy to slide things along so I had to be careful not to spill my drink. The bathrooms were in front of the restaurant I did not use them though, my mom did say the women's room was accessible.

Las Caras Denver, CO

Las Caras Denver, CO
1/27/2011

handicap Parking spots had loading area on wrong side for our ramp, but there was plenty of other parking with space. Inside was small, a few tables and booths the table worked well, the food was great by the way, my favorite mexican restaurant. the bathroom would of been ok, but there was stuff piled up in front, so I couldn't get there.
