Drury Inn and Suites Albuquerque - New Mexico

March 11, 2013

After our first stay on March 3, 2013, we were happy with everything especially that we finally found a hotel in Albuquerque with a two queen room with a roll in shower.  Well on our stay on the way home we were happy that we didn’t have to worry about what the room would have.  However when we arrived kind of late at night, they said that they double booked the room and gave it to someone else.  But they said they would give us an upgrade to a suite.  We thought that would work just fine.  When we got to the room, there was a sleeper sofa and a king bed.  None of us wanted to or could sleep on the sleeper sofa.  Also we didn’t want to all sleep together on the king bed.  So we had to go back down to the front desk and tell them it wouldn’t work.  So they said the only other room they could give us was a smoking room that was accessible with two queen beds.  This was not ideal, but at least we got the room free of charge.

The next morning my dad went to talk to the manager, they said that they were really sorry and that they should have found us another place with the type of room we wanted.  Which that sounds great except for you’ll be looking for a long time, since there are not many.  That was the reason we stayed here was because this was the only place we have found in Albuquerque with the two queen beds and a roll in shower.

We had also reserved this room months in advance so it was very disappointing.  I’m not sure either why you would double book a specialized room, where the accommodations are required, like an accessible room/bathroom especially since there are only a couple of these rooms in the hotel.

The next day after we returned home the area manager called and apologized again.

Blue corn Café & Brewery- Santa Fe New Mexico

March 12, 2013

We had to park next to the T-Mobile store that was close to this restaurant.  There was enough space to load and unload. The doors were easy to get through the spacing was good in front and was a little more crowded around the tables.  The table we had worked okay and it looked like they all would be the same.   The bathroom was in front of the building the doors were good and the stall was a good-sized stall there was a very good amount of space throughout the whole bathroom. The sink was good with no problems I just needed help getting the paper towels.

Cracker Barrel - Gallup New Mexico

March 11, 2013

The space inside was basically what you expect at a Cracker Barrel, but it was smaller than most Cracker Barrel's.   They gave us a huge table that worked fine. The bathroom is exactly like any other bathroom in a Cracker Barrel they work okay you can get in the stall and it's a little crowded around the sink area but it all works.

Roberto's Mexican restaurant - anthem Arizona

March 11, 2013

The parking was strip mall parking next to the frys market.  We did park in a handicapped spot in front of next door.  The door and entryway was great very easy to get into.  There was plenty of space inside and was very easy to get around.  There were two great handicap accessible tables that were very easy to use; I think some of the others would've worked to also.  I noticed the counter didn’t seem very high. I was also able to meet the owner who told me that he made sure to get the handicap tables and about how it bothers him when people park in handicapped parking spots and don't need them.

The original Garcias - Phoenix Arizona

March 9, 2013

There were two good handicap spots fairly close to the building.  The door was okay and once inside there is a lot of space in the front area and throughout the restaurant.  Inside the floor was little rough to drive over, but I got to where I needed to.  It was not too difficult to get to the table and once there it worked fine. The door to the bathroom was okay, but the stall was really small and I could not get in so I had to go in front of the stall. There was not much space in the bathroom and the sink was not great.

Times Sq. Italian restaurant pizza - Phoenix Arizona

March 8, 2013

There was a good handicap spot directly in front.  The parking lot was small but the handicap spot was good.  The door was easy to get through, but they had a small waiting area which was rather crowded between the bar and the dining room. Once we finally did get seated, which took a little longer because we needed a table, the table was slightly too short but it worked okay. There weren’t very many tables that were easily accessible and there were more booths than tables which would've been hard for a wheelchair.

Midwestern meats - Mesa Arizona

March 8, 2013

The parking lot was full except for one spot with the loading zone on the wrong side for our ramp.  The parking attendant told us to just park in the loading zone and let me out then re-park when I got out. This place is really crowded right in front by the door which is also where the cash register was.  It was crowded with the line of people waiting.   We had to wait for a while so we went into the next part of the building to the bakery and the meat market. These two parts were okay to get through.  From the bakery part there were two half doors to the restaurant which was a pain because two people had to hold them at the same time.   The table we were finally seated at was okay, it was a big table which we only used half or less of it and it was a little difficult to get to but we made it work.
