Northwest New Mexico Visitor Center I-40 Exit 85 - Grants New Mexico

There was plenty of space to park in the parking lot with multiple handicap spots that all would work well.  It was a little steep to get from there up to the door the sidewalk/path from the parking lot to the door was rough and bumpy to drive over with my wheelchair. 

 

When I got there, there was an automatic door which made things a lot easier.  

 

 

Inside there was a ton of space and a nice big window to look out also there was travel information filling the building along with a Museum and a small auditorium. They had a family accessible bathroom which had quite a bit more space than normal stall would have, this was nice.  The sink and the paper towels are both easy to get to and worked well.

The parking was not so good but it worked, we had to move the van to get in it when we were done. Inside was okay it was kind of a small building and a little tight to get around most of the building.  They did have two handicap tables. The one we sat at worked great.   The bathroom was down a long hall.  When I got to the bathroom I realized it was occupied, so I backed all the way out. Then later when it was clear, I went back down the hall and found a rather small bathroom with just barely enough room.

Drury Inn and Suites Albuquerque - New Mexico

The parking was good in the front of the building and there were also a couple spots on the sides of the building right next to the door. The front door was great since it was automatic. The spot at the end of the building right next to the door was close to our room which was at the end of the hall.  This made it really easy to unload and load back up.

 

Our room worked okay I guess it was an accessible room with two Queen Beds with a roll in shower.   It was difficult to get in and out of bed and we had to drag me to the corner so the lift could get somewhat under the bed.  The table in the room I could not quite get under. Our room didn't have a whole lot of space but a little more than a regular room.   

  

The bathroom was a good bathroom, the sink I could use good for brushing my teeth but did have a little trouble reaching the water and towels. The roll in shower we didn’t actually use but it looked like it would've worked well.  

 

The problem with this hotel comes on our next visit a week later.

Bostons – Albuquerque NM

 We went from our hotel across both parking lots to get to Boston's it was not very easy to get on the sidewalks. When we got there it was easy to get in the building and there was a good amount of space. It was easy to get to our table, the table worked well. I did not use the bathroom.

This was our first stop on our way to Phoenix.  The parking was ok with 2 handicap parking spots.  You do have to cross the parking lot to get to a cutout to the sidewalk that leads you to the door.  The doors were fine and easy enough to get through.  I couldn’t go through the line the normal way it went one way then turned and went the other with sharp turns.  So I just came in from the side since it wasn’t crowded anyways.  There were a couple of handicap access tables, but I had to drive up next to it and then had to turn to get under the table.  When under the table, it worked great.  There were high chairs down the hall to get to the bathroom which made it a little difficult to turn to get in.  Inside was just one room, which had enough room.

J. Gumbo's - Ft. Collins CO

This located in the Super Target shopping center.  There are handicap parking spots, but just not directly in front of J Gumbos.  Where we did park we had plenty of room.  We walked /drove not too far to the place; from there it was easy to get through the place.  There was plenty of room just about everywhere, the table we sat at worked great.  There was easy access to the restrooms (I don’t know about inside).  The also bring your food to the table, so that helps out.  We left and went out the back door which worked well.

There were 2 handicap parking spots, one of them worked for our ramp.  The loading area had plenty of room.  The cutout for the side walk was not right there, I had to go around the van and through the parking lot a little bit.  The sidewalk to the door was rather bumpy for me to drive over in my wheelchair.  Inside the door area was a little crowded with an outside door then a set of double doors.  There was a decent amount of space everywhere else and the table was excellent for me.
